Day Two

Constructivists Approach

We first discussed the term “constructivist” and how is fosters a rich learning environment. This is certainly something I strive for in my teaching.  Always providing students the answers or steps to finding the answers does not provide them with deep learning experiences.
Open Office

We discussed the Pod Cast Open Office and used McLuhan’s tetrad
This was the result of our discussion:

Group brainstorm of Open Office concept on the four areas (Enhances, Reverses, Retrieves & Obsolesces)

We were next asked to:

Examine a learning environment
1) identify
2) discover - properties, characteristics, intent/function
3) how does it: enhance, reverse / what does it: retrieve, obsolesce

Our group choose the Modern Library
This is our Tetrad

McLuhan’s tetrad provides me with a new way of analyzing environments and I look forward to using this model in my own work space.
